Hi! I am Julia Sophie Plath, and I tell stories through handcrafted illustrations.
I have finished my MA degree at the HAW Hamburg and have since been working as a freelance illustrator. My main fields are editorial and bookillustration, but I have also experience in comics, commercial work and animations.
My artwork is often described as surreal, I craft visually deep and detailled scenes and images, full of atmosphere and emotion. These illustrations are often sublime, melancholic and intriguing.
Working analogue as well as digital allows me to achieve a style that is nostalgic yet modern.
